About

Finally i have managed to put some time aside to complete my 'about' page. The reason for this availability to sit down and try and write something meaningful and insightful is because i have decided to take myself and ultimately this website in a new direction.

Firstly i am a 25 year old graduate from the University of Kent. I have a degree in Multimedia Technology and Design which i gained in 2003 and since this time have continued to learn and implement various and design and search engine related techniques.

Having left university and moved to Nottingham, i found that although university had provided me with a good insight into web design (my chosen profession), a career in the industry could only be forged through an extensive portfolio of work - something that (due to the generalization of my degree) had not prepared me for!

Since moving to Nottingham, i have worked on various personal projects, learn't a great deal about the world of search engine optimization and gained a perspective of what i want to do and achieve in life - the goal is (and essentially always has been) to work for myself as a freelance web designer and (now) SEO consultant.

This therefore brings me to why i now have the time to complete my 'about' page information.

At the beginning of September '07 i decided it was time to use my skills to redesign and market my personal website and put myself into the top ten on Google for the search term 'freelance web designer' - something i have quickly already achieved a page 5 ranking for on the .co.uk results page. Now that i am developing a new site design, i am also looking to take on both web design, redesign, development and search engine optimization related work.
